Music Grants
Music Grants for Students in Ipswich
Music
The promotion of musical appreciation was from the start of an important Foundation objective, and this has continued to be the case. Support for performance has been reflected in help given to local orchestral groups eg. the Suffolk Youth Orchestra, the Suffolk Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Ipswich Caribbean Association for a youth steel band. Support has also been given over the years to the annual series of Ipswich Civic Concerts and to a ‘Music for Youth’ project run annually by and from Ipswich School, aimed at introducing younger Ipswich children to music by way of illustrated performances and talks by professional musicians. A major contribution, as the budget above suggests, has always been the funding of the purchase of musical instruments to be available to the children and young people in the schools of the town. Additional to this is the help given to the purchase of instruments for individuals.
Help granted
